[M]ost Americans seem to have some kind of equilibrium about all this. 73% of Americans think Zimmerman should be arrested and 76% believe those participating in Neighbourhood Watch should not be armed.
Disconcertingly, a majority of Americans, 55%, still support these horrible “stand your ground” laws. But it’s clear that even if they don’t share my interpretation of how those laws worked to create this event, most Americans get that there was a miscarriage of justice here.
I’m worried that the Right will chip away at that by means of these character attacks on Martin, though.
