US – Those Who Choose Permanent Paranoia Over Temporary Safety Requirements Deserve To Be Paranoid, I’d Still Rather Be Safe – 4 July 2013

I wonder how many people will celebrate the US Constitution this July Fourth by going to the airport to take a plane ride dressed as Benjamin Franklin, objecting loudly to the TSA workers about having to go through the metal detector, insisting they produce a warrant for the search they are about to perform, and reading that epigram about people who are willing to give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserving neither liberty nor safety…and then, when the TSA insist, intimating that they have a constitutional right to carry a gun and stand their ground against anyone trying to force them to do something.

A little patriotism is a dangerous thing, folks. Have a secure Fourth, free of pseudo-Constitutional imbalances.
